The Delta Heat DHIJ38 insulating jacket surrounds a Delta Heat 38" built-in gas grill when it is installed in an outdoor island made with combustible materials. The stainless steel enclosure adds a protective barrier between the grill body and the surrounding island structure.
Plan the grill and insulating jacket as one installation. The DHIJ38 is wider, taller, and deeper than the grill-only opening. Use the jacket dimensions when building the island rather than making the opening from the grill size alone.
No. The DHIJ38 is made for the Delta Heat 38" built-in gas grill. Do not use the listed grill width alone to choose an insulating jacket from another brand or product line.
No. The current Delta Heat grill specifications call for an insulating jacket and at least 12" of clearance around combustible construction. Follow the current grill manual and all local building and fire codes.
No. The jacket needs a larger opening than the grill by itself. Build the island from the DHIJ38 cutout dimensions when the jacket is part of the installation.
Choose the grill and jacket before cutting the countertop or building the cabinet opening. Follow the current Delta Heat grill instructions for the required 12" clearance around combustible construction. The installation must also provide proper ventilation, structural support, gas and electrical access, and room for future service. Follow all local building, gas, fire, and electrical codes.
Clean the stainless steel with a soft cloth and a cleaner approved for outdoor stainless steel. Do not use steel wool, abrasive cleaning pads, or cleaners containing chlorine.
