The Delta Heat DHIJ32 insulating jacket provides a stainless steel enclosure for a Delta Heat 32" built-in gas grill. It is used when the grill is installed in an outdoor island made with combustible materials, such as wood framing.
The DHIJ32 changes the size of the opening needed for the grill. Select the jacket before the island is built so the countertop, cabinet opening, support, and utility routes can be planned around the full enclosure.
Delta Heat requires an insulating jacket when the grill is installed near combustible construction. Its grill specifications provide separate clearance rules for islands made only with noncombustible materials. Confirm every material used inside the island before deciding that a jacket is not needed.
Do not substitute a different jacket size to create extra space. Each Delta Heat jacket has its own opening dimensions and should be matched to the correct grill size.
Do not assume the jacket removes all clearance requirements. Delta Heat’s current grill specifications call for the insulating jacket plus at least 12" of clearance around combustible construction.
Plan the island based on the DHIJ32 dimensions rather than the grill-only cutout. Delta Heat’s current 32" grill specifications require the jacket and at least 12" of clearance around combustible construction. The island must also provide proper ventilation, grill support, gas and electrical access, and room for future service. Follow the grill manual and all local codes.
Clean the stainless steel with a soft cloth and a cleaner approved for outdoor stainless steel. Do not use steel wool, abrasive cleaning pads, or cleaners containing chlorine.
Freight Delivery Details
Freight delivery is required when packages exceed the limits of small parcel carriers (i.e. FedEx, UPS, and USPS etc.), either by size and/or weight of 150 lbs or more. All such packages will be shipped via a freight truck carrier.
