The Coyote CJAKTCC3 is a 304 stainless steel insulated jacket for C2C34 and C3C34 built-in grills. It forms the manufacturer-specified barrier between the grill body and combustible materials below the countertop, allowing the grill to be incorporated into island designs that require thermal separation.
Using the jacket changes the required island opening compared with a grill installed directly in non-combustible construction. Include it in the original appliance layout so the countertop overhang, cabinet opening, rear clearance, ventilation, and gas access can be coordinated before construction.
The jacket does not remove Coyote's restrictions for combustible overhead construction. A grill must not be located under combustible material unless a suitable outdoor ventilation hood is installed according to the hood manufacturer's instructions and applicable local requirements.
Coyote does not classify individual building materials. The island builder or local authority having jurisdiction should evaluate the framing, panels, adhesives, countertop supports, finishes, and nearby structures. Product names such as masonry board or outdoor panel do not by themselves confirm that an entire assembly is non-combustible.
