Required Heat Barrier for 30" Coyote C3 Built-In Grills

Product Description

The Coyote C3JAKTCSL30 is a 304 stainless steel insulated jacket made for the 30" Coyote C3C30 and C3SL30 built-in gas grills. It creates the manufacturer-specified barrier between the grill and combustible materials used in an outdoor kitchen enclosure. Choose this model when the island design places combustible material within 24" of the grill frame.

Key Features

  • Designed specifically for the Coyote C3C30 and C3SL30 built-in grills
  • Provides a heat barrier between the grill and combustible island materials
  • 304 stainless steel construction
  • Supports both 30" C3 grill configurations with one jacket model
  • Designed to hang from the countertop without support beneath the jacket
  • Openings accommodate the grill's utility connections when installed as directed

An insulated jacket must be planned before the island opening is built. The jacket is larger than the grill's standard non-combustible cutout, so adding one after construction may require changes to the countertop and enclosure. Confirm the grill model, island material, clearances, ventilation, and utility routes with the installer before fabrication begins.

Planning for Combustible Construction

This jacket is intended for installations where combustible material falls within Coyote's required clearance area. It does not make every enclosure design acceptable by itself. The island must still meet the grill manual's ventilation, rear-clearance, gas or electrical connection, service-access, and overhead-construction requirements.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the insulated jacket eliminate the other grill clearances?

No. Coyote states that using an insulated jacket does not waive the remaining installation requirements. The installer must still provide the specified ventilation, hood clearance, utility connections, and safe routing for hoses and wires.

How do I know whether my island material is combustible?

Coyote does not classify construction materials for the installer. Ask the island builder or local authority having jurisdiction to determine whether the framing, panels, adhesives, finishes, countertop supports, or nearby structures are combustible. If combustible material is within 24" of the grill frame, Coyote requires the corresponding insulated jacket.
