The Burner Heat Shield Kit for Fire Magic Echelon and Aurora models includes a stainless steel shield/diverter tube (2-1/4" long x 2-1/2" wide) and a high-temp silicone gasket. This kit is designed to protect the control panel from excessive heat and includes installation instructions. Note: This shield kit is not compatible with infrared burners.
The Fire Magic burner heat shield kit is standard on all current Echelon and Aurora models and can be retrofitted for all pre-2011 Echelon and Aurora built-in and portable grills with “E” burners. It prevents control panel damage caused by “back-flaming,” a condition that occurs when burner ports clog due to lack of cleaning. Regular burner maintenance, at least once a year, is recommended. Refer to the owner’s manual for detailed instructions.
